It is a place of cloud forests and coffee plantations, monkeys, mist, and friendly locals. The town of Santa Elena is small and quiet. You can try here the local cuisine at one of the restaurants or visit some of the folksy artisan shops. The rainforest nearby hosts a remarkable amount of biodiversity.
The forest is located on 1440 meters above sea level (4662 feet). It’s a perfect place for hiking, also for amateurs. Beautiful surroundings and rich flora are great for walks. The trails were designated for people, so it’s a really safe and tourist-friendly place.
